First ,when it comes to west wedding, there is a sentence i believe some of you have heard before,that is “something old.something new,something borrowed,something blue.”This customs can be traced back to the Victorian Age. “Something old” is that the bridal veil should have been used by her mother or grandmother. It represents the past time of her and her family. And it also represents the guests in attendance at the ceremony that has been already married.
“Something new” means that the wedding gown[gaun] is new which is also represents the newlyweds and the beginning of their new life .
“Something borrowed” means that the bride can borrow a handkerchief or jewelry from another happy couple. So their happiness will rub off on the newlyweds and bring lasting happiness to their marriage.
“Something blue” is associated with the bride’s virginity[v?'d?in?ti] and purity. It symbolizes modesty, fidelity, and love.It can be earring and anything you want.
Second, is some information about Bridal gown. the wedding is a ceremony which have existed since ancient times , but the history of bride wearing wedding dresses on the wedding day is less than 200 years. In the west, Before the nineteenth Century,any color is suitable to the wedding gown, even black, if it is beautiful.Until 1840, along with the British Queen Victoria wore an elegant white wedding dress in the ceremony , as well as the bride of royalty and upper class followed, white gradually became the preferred color when people select the wedding dresses. Because the color white represents the bride's beauty and holiness.
Third, is some information about the wedding rings. According to historical record, in early Rome, the ring has become a symbol of love and engagement. It symbolizes: the bride is able to use this key to open the lock of her husband’s soul.After the World War Two, more and more Americans began to wear wedding rings. Pure gold or platinum ring can be said to be the best choice.The wedding rings should be worn on the ring finger, which is believed to be connected with the heart. It is something like that if the couple put the rings on their ring fingers. They both put each other in their heart.
Then,when everything is ready, the most exciting moment--wedding ceremony will begin.
