餐厅与客厅合在同一个空间这在面积宝贵的城市住宅设计中是十分普遍的，其实在自建住宅设计中同样适用，由于两个不同空间合用在一个空间内，相应会紧凑一些，可以节约一些建筑面积。也不是说，这两个功能空间在使用上没有什么冲突，只是冲突不大吧了。本人在设计这种客厅与餐厅合用时，更喜欢采用一种空间虚分隔设计手法，就是用一些盆花或穿透一些的博古架来处理，两个不同空间大部分又是相通的，只是少有隔开，可以理解为似隔而非隔吧，这样处理实际效果很不错！这种设计还有一个好处，就是可以用一台电视机同时满足客厅和餐厅观看电视的需要，可能从传统观念上讲，一边用餐一边观看电视会对消化不利，但现在年轻人根本就不理会这，现在的年轻人还一边上网一边用餐呢？本人也是偏向于一边观看电视一边用餐的，现在大家都忙，这不也是提高时间效力呣？一边观看电视一边用餐还可增加不少的情趣不是。当然餐厅设计在另外的空间也很好呀！
