Nowadays, cigarette smoking is a widespread habit all over the world. More and more people are becoming a smoker, not only the old and the men, but also the youth and the women. Even some middle school students have been engaged in smoking. But in my opinion, cigarette smoking is a dangerous habit.
The reasons for this are not far to seek. Firstly, smoking is not only harmful to smokers themselves, but also a threat to public health，especially to women and children. It has been proved to be closely linked to many of the most fatal diseases such as cancer, heart problems, and lung diseases. Statistics show that smoking takes the lives of millions of people in the world every year. All these lead us to believe that smoking does kill. Secondly, smoking is a potential threat to cause dangerous fires. Some smokers like smoking as lying in the bed or sofa, which is easy to cause a fire. It is reported that many of our major fires and catastrophic fires are caused by smoking carelessly.
The danger of smoking is warned of everywhere. Therefore, many countries have worked out laws forbidding smokers to smoke in public places. In short, we should remember to stay away from cigarette smoking at every moment, and that will make our life more wonderful.
