【摘要】Face-to-face college students'physical and psychological engagement with their studies while they are outside the classroom environment plays a crucial role in their academic success, now more than ever before. Many factors can contribute positively to contemporary students'engagement with their academic experience while they are not in the classroom environ-ment. The purpose of this paper is to report and discuss the results of a mixed methods study that explored strategies used by face-to-face instructors to encourage students'engagement in their academic studies while they were outside the classroom, as well as students'reactions to these strategies. The research site was a mid-size state university in New York State. Data were collected through semester-long observations of six different classes, interviews with instructors about students'engagement, and a student survey about students'interactions with instructors. 【总页数】3页(227-229) 【关键词】
