The switches are integral with the circuit board in the base of the telephone set. The hook on which the telephone handset rests (8) comprises a pedal which is mounted within the telephone casing to pivot about a fixed axis (9). It includes a projecting contact region (10) against which the handset (2) rests. An
intermediate part of the pedal (13) comes into contact with an elastically deformable membrane zone (14) underneath which is a conductive pastille (17) which may be pressed down on to a circuit board (4). As the pedal pivots and depresses this elastically deformable membrane zone, an extension of the pedal is lifted from another elastically deformable zone (7) thus releasing a further conductive pastille (15) from connection with the circuit board. 主权项：
